A summer wedding party unexpectedly leads to an abrupt break-up between the bride and groom, Astrid and Tõnis. A bond that until recently seemed strong enough to promise "yes, forever" and a decision that was just now so clear falls into question on the night the long-awaited togetherness was to begin. The dreams and thoughts of what marriage means for both of them that preceded the wedding are no longer the anchors that held Astrid and Tõnis to the promise they had made. Once bound to each other, the hesitations of one party become the hesitations of the other, the weight of the other pulling down the weight of the first. Not yet knowing how to be together, remaining simply themselves gives way to the fear that to commit to the other is to be left behind. During the night, the emotions expressed before the wedding become an impenetrable silence between the bride and groom. A silence that is easy to fill with self-doubt. Will they come to a tacit understanding or a tacit misunderstanding?
